Positions Purpose:

The Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering and managing infrastructure solutions to support enterprise application systems and core infrastructure. The Infrastructure team offers backup, storage and virtualization services utilizing technologies including EMC storage, Avamar, Data Domain, and Vmware virtualization products.
The candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, will be forward systems thinking and be able to work effectively within the various business groups in which we support. The role will require the understanding of the enterprise architecture from end-to-end. Must be able to perform root cause analysis and be able to solve complex problems.

Principal Responsibilities: 
 
Performs equipment installations and relocation as required to support the business needs of the enterprise.
Ensure the stability and proper support of a windows 2008 / 2012 environment.
Deployment of applications through a Citrix XenApp  environment
Ensure the stability and proper support of exchange 2013 and Lync
Resolve failed and validate backups of the environment through global backup solution
Participate in the testing of cloud based technologies as possible replacement for internal services
Serves as point of escalation from the help desk and provides specific expertise in area of responsibility.
Acts under the direction of and collaborates in the development of Enterprise Architecture standards.
Participates in planning, installation and technical support of application deployments.
Take ownership for understanding business processes to support end-to-end applications.
Demonstrate an ability to understand and use development or administrative tools.
Understand the change management process to implement system changes.
 
Essential duties:
  • Proactively identify potential issues in the production environment and help recommend solutions.
  • Work with the project team in relation to Citrix XenApp 7.7 and the migration of published applications.
  • Work within team that is responsible for support of virtual server 2008 / 2012 environment in a virtualized environment.
  • Work within team that is responsible for support of Exchange and Lync environment.
  • Work within team as escalation point for global backup solution for problem resolution.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Mentor / cross-train local team members on existing and new technologies.
  • Communicate with internal customers regarding windows updates to be applied to the server environment to ensure quarterly patching schedule can be maintained.
  • Assists with production hardware and software system upgrades and installations.
  • Participate in the review and remediation of regular vulnerability assessments.
  • Work closely with vendors and other departments as required.
  • Act as technical lead on projects by maximizing project resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent working experience
  • 5+ years of Enterprise level support experience
  • 5+ years supporting Microsoft Windows Server environment
  • 5+ years Vmware 5.5
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage Technologies
  • Strong history of Exchange / Lync management
  • Experience in migration / support of Office 365 email
  • A broad range of technical skills with a strong desire to constantly expand skillset
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies
  • Strong documentation & communication skills
  • Experience Citrix Xenapp application deployment and Management Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Desired Skills:
  • Degree in computer-related field or equivalent work experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 installation and management
  • Experience with Exchange 2013 and Lync
  • Vmware 5.5 / 6 experience
  • Experience with migrating applications to new citrix environmentNetscaler management and support
  • Experience with cloud based solutions particularly relating to email and messaging
  • A solid understanding of administration, networking, security, and distributed computing concepts
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills used to establish customer, vendor, and staff relationships at all levels
