Workflow Automation Engineer
Chicago, ILWe are seeking an Automation & AI Engineer to design, build, and support automation workflows that streamline operations and enhance client deliverables. This role sits at the intersection of low-code automation, AI integration, and data connectivity, making it a unique opportunity to shape how our teams and clients leverage next-generation tools like n8n, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Sparkflow.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation workflows using platforms such as n8n, Power Automate, and Zapier.
- Integrate SharePoint, Teams, SQL, and other business systems to create seamless, automated processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, document workflows, and translate them into automated solutions.
- Prototype and deploy AI-powered automations using tools like OpenAI, Copilot, and Vibe Coding.
- Support Sparkflow analytics projects by building connectors, automations, and notifications that increase adoption and ROI.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Stay current on emerging automation and AI tools, recommending new approaches that drive efficiency.
- Collaborate with US and India teams to standardize automation practices and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' of professional experience in automation, integration, or systems role.
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms (Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, Make).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive).
- Basic proficiency in SQL (queries, joins, data integration).
- Exposure to AI tools and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, custom GPTs).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new platforms.
- Excellent communication skills — able to gather requirements and explain solutions to non-technical users.
- Experience with basic coding/scripting (JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with DevOps or version control for workflow management.
- Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing environment.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
